Brewers come back to beat Astros 4-3

Down 3-0 the Milwaukee Brewers battled back and eked out a 4-3 win over the Houston Astros. After Jason Kendall made a great play at home and tagged out Lance Berkman, Berkman went ballistic and was thrown out along with his manager Cecil Cooper. This seemed to wake up the brew crew and they took the lead on a Corey Hart double after Prince Fielder had tied the game with a two run single. Trevor Hoffman then came on for his 11th save in a row.

Rickie Weeks out for the season

In recent years I was happy when Rickie Weeks got hurt and was replaced. His terrible fielding and low on base percentage I felt was hurting the team. People talked about his potential and this season he sure seemed to be living up to it. To have your leadoff hitter leading the team in homers with Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun on the same team is really something. In 2009 Weeks fielding was better and his pitch selection at the plate was much improved. Hearing today that he has torn something in his wrist and is out for the season is quite a blow! "Life isn't fair" certainly applies here. Will the Brewers start Counsell in his place and lose having his versatility coming off the bench? We might see SS prospect Alcides Escobar called up and JJ Hardy at 2nd. I'm not really sure if Bill Hall could play everyday at 2nd and then we have Mat Gamel that was just called up at 3rd. Hopefully the Brewers can overcome this and Rickie Weeks can come back next year playing like he did in 2009.

Terrell Owens in Buffalo

Did you see TO landing at the airport in Buffalo? They had the cheerleaders there, mobs of fans, and some goofball dressed as a box of popcorn! He was interviewed on espn and said he was "euphoric" about TO being a Buffalo Bill. Wait till TO poisons the team and starts yelling at his quarterback and coaches. Will he also lead the league in dropped passes like he did last year? Lets see if your feeling euphoric then popcorn man!

Brewers in first place!

The Milwaukee Brewers won again today despite only having two hits! Corey Harts homer was the only score of the game and was all the brew crew needed. Jeff Suppan was the winning pitcher. The beginning of the season I would have thought there was no way he could even dream of a shutout although he did get a little relief help including Trevor Hoffman's ninth save. "Soup" has definitely turned it around, I might even need to stop calling him "Poopan". With the win over the St. Louis Cardinals the Brewers sit alone in first place. Lets hope they will occupy the same position at the end of the season. The Reds, Cards, and Cubs are all within a game so this may be a tight race all season.

Brewers beat Cubs 12-6

Ryan Braun homered for the second consecutive night and Craig Counsel added a rare homer as well. Yovanni Gallardo picked up his 4th win of the season while striking out 8 cubs batters. Milwaukee is on a streak now climbing from the bottom of the division to a solid second place. Things are looking good as the club seems to have a swagger about them and are playing with confidence. Lets see if they can continue this all season!
