Spring Training
Milwaukee Brewers have started spring training. Can they go even farther in the playoffs this year without Prince Fielder?

Brewers deja vu on opening day
Just like 2010 the Milwaukee Brewers started off their 2011 season by blowing a 9th inning lead, giving up a 3 run home and losing 7-6 to the Cinncinati Reds. Lets hope the entire season isnt a repeat of last year!

Brett Favre returns to Lambeau
The hype is building as Brett Favre returns to Lambeau field this week. I really want to cheer for the guy this year but wearing the purple for the Vikings, it just isnt going to happen. I would love nothing more than to see Favre throw 4 interceptions and get his butt kicked. When he retires as a packer, then I can cheer for him again.
Yankee's Suck
So the New York Yankee's are in the World Series. Who cares? I sure don't. When you just buy all the top players in the game it makes it a joke. Its like buying an award then saying you won it. Bud Selig is too afraid to change anything but until he does MLB is a joke. Teams like the Kansas City Royals and Pittsburgh Pirates have no chance. Pittsburgh can have a world champion football team, hockey team, and their baseball team hasnt even had a winning record in almost two decades. They cant compete with teams that have a payroll that outspends them by over 150 million dollars. Until this is fixed it will be the Yankee's, Red Sox, Dodgers, Angels, Phillies in the world series for the next decade. Hopefully everyone else will get sick of it too and just stop watching.

Packers beat the Bears to kick off the season
21-15 was the final score as Green Bay needed a late 50 yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to Greg Jennings to take the lead and then an Al Harris interception of Jay Cutler to seal the deal. The Packers are now tied with the Vikings for the division lead in what should be a season long duel for supremacy in the NFC North.

Brewers come back to beat Astros 4-3
Down 3-0 the Milwaukee Brewers battled back and eked out a 4-3 win over the Houston Astros. After Jason Kendall made a great play at home and tagged out Lance Berkman, Berkman went ballistic and was thrown out along with his manager Cecil Cooper. This seemed to wake up the brew crew and they took the lead on a Corey Hart double after Prince Fielder had tied the game with a two run single. Trevor Hoffman then came on for his 11th save in a row.

Rickie Weeks out for the season
In recent years I was happy when Rickie Weeks got hurt and was replaced. His terrible fielding and low on base percentage I felt was hurting the team. People talked about his potential and this season he sure seemed to be living up to it. To have your leadoff hitter leading the team in homers with Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun on the same team is really something. In 2009 Weeks fielding was better and his pitch selection at the plate was much improved. Hearing today that he has torn something in his wrist and is out for the season is quite a blow! "Life isn't fair" certainly applies here. Will the Brewers start Counsell in his place and lose having his versatility coming off the bench? We might see SS prospect Alcides Escobar called up and JJ Hardy at 2nd. I'm not really sure if Bill Hall could play everyday at 2nd and then we have Mat Gamel that was just called up at 3rd. Hopefully the Brewers can overcome this and Rickie Weeks can come back next year playing like he did in 2009.
